Environmental Toxicity

Could Environmental Toxicity Be Causing My Health Problems?

Smog creating a need for detoxification

There is now incontrovertible evidence that environmental toxins and chemicals are everywhere, and we cannot avoid them. Not only do environmental chemicals get into the body, once they are there, we do not have the metabolism (anti-oxidants) to get rid of them, so they silently stockpile in our cells. These toxins create whatĀ are called free radicals and oxidative stress.

There are more than 99,000 articles on pubmed.com stating that oxidative stress is related to more than 250 chronic degenerative diseases. These diseases include Cancer, Autism, Arthritis, Psoriasis, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dermatitis, Alzheimer, Parkinsonā€™s, Back and Neck Pain, ADHD, Stoke, Migraine, Obesity, Allergies, Lupus, Auto Immune Disorders, and many more. Adults are not the ones to be concerned. A study done by the Environmental Working Group (a team of scientists, engineers, policy experts, and lawyers who research and expose threats to health and the environment) measured toxins spread by mothers through the umbilical cord. They found that 287 synthetic chemicals were spread from mom to baby, including perfluorochemicals, flame retardants, pesticides, and the Teflon chemical PFOA. Almost all the chemicals found in the umbilical cord have been linked to birth defects, developmental problems, cancer, and brain and central nervous system problems.

Environmental toxicity has never been more prevalent than now; therefore, we must become aware of how to adapt to this deadly foe if we expect to live long and healthy lives. With more than 78,000 chemicals in production in North America alone, and 3,100 chemicals added to our food supply, we slowly become toxic over time. As we hold onto these toxins, we store them in our brain tissue, fat cells, glands, and organs.

Over time, the toxic load increases, and health slowly deteriorates, leading to disease. In addition, more than 10,000 chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, emulsifiers, preservatives, and solvents are used in food processing, packaging, and storage, making it a wonder we can function at all.

Who is Likely to Get Illness Resulting From Toxins?

All the people on earth who are not detoxifying, evolving, and cleansing. According to the E.P.A., there are more than 20,000 chemicals our bodies cannot metabolize or naturally get rid of. Chemicals that cannot be metabolized get stored in fat cells throughout our bodies where they continue to accumulate, causing obesity and more toxicity.

We must detoxify and cleanse at the cellular level if we intend to be healthy. If we do not purify our bodies and purge harmful toxins, the chemicals will accumulate and alter metabolism, cause enzyme dysfunction and nutritional deficiencies, create hormonal imbalances, damage brain chemistry, and cause cancer. Because the chemicals and toxins affect each person differently, every individual needs to be evaluated to determine their individual toxic burden or toxic load.

We offer simple tests to evaluate you and your family for the effects of toxicity and oxidative stress. Common issues resulting from toxicity include nutritional deficiency, impaired enzyme function, hormonal imbalances, and weight gain or obesity. Adding more toxins under the guise of synthetic drugs to correct an already toxic internal environment will only contribute further to the toxic cycle. Thankfully, there is a better way to find the underlying cause of this epidemic.

What is Causing Toxicity?

Illness and Toxicity come from breathing contaminated air, consuming contaminated food, water, or beverages polluted with bacteria, parasites, or viruses, and contacting petrochemicals, heavy metals, or heavy isotope (radiation) radicals. Chlorine is a strong oxidizing agent added to our drinking water and contributes to toxicity.

Fluoride can cause damage to DNA, RNA repair, and fluorosis. This could manifest itself as hormonal and thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, autism and hyperactivity, obesity and metabolic syndrome, poor cell signaling (auto-immune), chemical sensitivity, chronic inflammatory disease, cancer, and early death.

Toxins in city air

Ever since we were born, we have been exposed to an increasing amount of chemicals. As the amounts of toxins accumulate within our cells, we begin to develop symptoms that may range anywhere from chronic fatigue to strokes, heart attacks, and cancer.

Certain cancers have been linked to phthalates, which are byproducts of plastic wrap and plastic bottles that outgas plasticizers, which leach into our food. Phthalates chemically mimic hormones and confuse the receptor sites, as well as damage the endocrine system. All this ā€˜confusionā€™ creates internal stress and alters our natural immune response, leading to poor health expression.

Pesticide residues are detectable in 50% – 95% of the food consumed in the U.S. Pesticides can be even more damaging to the endocrine and glandular systems. The U.S. uses thirty times more synthetic pesticides today than in 1945.

“Silver” dental fillings contain mercury (a cause of Parkinson’s disease and many other neurological disorders) that leaches out and is absorbed by the surrounding tissue and lungs.

The average carpet outgases more than twelve chemicals (such as benzene, a known cause of leukemia), all of which can cause disease.

Endogenous toxins are toxins produced inside your body. Some of these toxins are waste products from normal metabolic activities. Carbon dioxide, urea, and lactic acid are examples of endogenous toxins that your body churns out by the second. Unless your health is severely compromised, your body is equipped to eliminate these endogenous toxins from your system.

An often overlooked source of endogenous toxins is an unhealthy gut. Over time, a diet rich in highly refined foods, poor eating habits (lack of chewing is a terrible habit), and emotional stress can lead to an unhealthy balance of microorganisms in your gastrointestinal tract, a state that is called intestinal dysbiosis.

Intestinal dysbiosis is accompanied by steady production of endogenous toxins by undesirable yeasts, fungi, bacteria, and even parasites. These toxins include various aldehydes, alcohols, indols, phenols, and skatols, just to name a few.

While some of these endogenous toxins are eliminated as gas, some make their way into your bloodstream by traveling through your intestinal walls, and once they make it into your bloodstream, they can get into your cells.

To offset this onslaught of toxins, we need to detoxify and ensure we have enough of the primary and secondary antioxidants to ensure proper elimination of these chemicals at the cellular level to avoid Chronic Degenerative Disease. Supply Nutrition.

Are You Sick or Toxic?

Toxic Chemical Barrels

Studies show that most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in our cells. EPA studies reveal that 100% of people tested have dioxins, PCBs, dichlorobenzene, and xylene in their fat cells, and carcinogenic benzene (89%) and percholoethlylene (93%) in their exhaled breath. These are small examples of an epidemic problem.

Unable to be excreted from the body, chemicals find their way into our liver, and then migrate to fat cells in organs throughout the body where they are stored. When our bodies exceed the limit for toxins we can excrete, those too are stored. Chemicals and heavy metals make up our “total toxic burden.” This bioaccumulation compromises our physiological and psychological health and leads to chronic disease including physical, mental, and emotional well- being. It is clear that body toxins exist and must be removed through detoxification.Ā Our desire is to help you achieve a purge of toxicities from your body.

Early warning signs of toxic overload include headaches, skin conditions, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue, and more. For a list of conditions that indicate over-toxicity, take our Are You Toxic? Survey.

How Do I Know if I Am Toxic, and What Can I do About It?

There are simple tests that can be performed to evaluate you for toxicity and determine your levels. We begin with Nutritional Response TestingĀ . Other test including Meta Oxy Test (urine), Blood Nutrition testing, Revelar (breath test ), as well as comprehensive stool analysis. OnceĀ your toxic levelsĀ have been determined, aĀ Designed Clinical Nutritional PlanĀ Ā will be recommended along with dietary recommendations to decrease your total toxic burden.

Did You Know?

  • Columbia University School of Public Health reports that 95% of cancer is caused by diet and environmental toxicity.
  • EPA studies of human fat biopsies found styrene residue in 100% of people.
  • According to the EPA, our bodies accumulate 210 mcg of just plasticizers (phthalates) everyday.
  • Studies show that most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in the fat cells of our bodies.
  • A USA Today article indicates the average city water contains more than 500 chemicals.

“Air pollution and water pollution are only a small part of the toxicity story. There are thousands of harmful environmental toxins, some of which weā€™re aware of– such as pesticides, chemicals, household cleansers, fertilizers– and others, which seem perfectly innocent, such as those ubiquitous plastic water bottles, styrene cups, dental fillings, and plastic wrap. These are just a few small examples of the alarming amount of harmful toxins our bodies are absorbing every day.”
